WHAT IS THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF DRUG SUPPLY?
Section 25 of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW) constitutes it a criminal offence for a person to supply or knowingly take part in the supply of a prohibited drug.
WHAT IS A PROHIBITED DRUG?
Prohibited drugs are classified under Schedule 1 of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW). The list of prohibited drugs under the schedule includes heroin, cocaine, cannabis resine and acetorphine, among others.
WHAT IS THE PENALTY FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF DRUG SUPPLY?
The maximum penalties for supply of a small quantity to an indictable quantity of prohibited drugs to another adult under Section 25 of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW) is 15 years imprisonment and/or a $220,000 fine.
The penalty may be greater if you are charged under another provision due to the circumstances of the matter, such as having supplied to a child under the age of 16.
Other penalties available for a conviction of the criminal offence of drug supply include Conditional Release Orders (CRO), Intensive Corrections Order (ICO) and Community Corrections Order (CCO).

WOMAN AND MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF DRUG SUPPLY
The charges follow an investigation by Manning/Great Lakes Police and the execution of a search warrant at a unit on 17 July 2025. During the search, it is alleged that police found $14,800 cash, 47.07g heroin, 31 suboxone strips, 4.38g methamphetamine, digital scales, mobile phones and a gel-blaster firearm.
Further to the above-mentioned individuals, a 28-year-old woman was charged with drug possession and is due to appear before the Local Court on 10 September 2025, whilst a 38-year-old man was charged with drug possession and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
The two charged men were refused bail and are scheduled to appear in the Local Court on 30 July 2025.
MAN ACCUSED OF RUNNING DRUG DEALING NETWORK ARRESTED
A 26-year-old man accused of running a drug dealing network has been arrested at his Double Bay home and charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime, commercial drug supply, directing the activities of a criminal group and failing to comply with a digital evidence order.
He was arrested by a strike force that had been established to probe the supply of drugs, money laundering and outlaw motorcycle gang connections of two men.
Police also seized over $20,000 in cash from his home.
The man is alleged by Police to have “directed a network of young males to supply prohibited drugs across the Sydney metropolitan area.” Two of the alleged young males are currently facing drug supply matters.
The 26-year-old man did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. He is due to next face Court in September 2025.
